The parish Bulletin Editor & Administrative Assistant is responsible for effective parish wide communication through the weekly bulletin, email newsletter and Mass announcements. They will ensure that the vision of the Pastor and the parish communication team come to fruition through collaboration, accuracy in written communication and creation of visually interesting content.
Position Status:
Part-Time less than 19.5 hours per week
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Organizes and publishes the weekly parish bulletin.
- Organizes and publishes the weekly email newsletter through Flocknote.
- Organizes and collaborates with other staff in drafting the weekend Mass announcements.
- Collaborates with other staff and the parish communications team for social media posts.
- Creation of Flyers, icons & logos for compelling visual marketing of parish events and ministries.
- Completes other clerical responsibilities as assigned or determined by the Pastor.
Requirements
- 2-5 years experience in bulletin editing, graphic design, layout design or some equivalent.
- Has good verbal and written communication skills.
- Has good interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Has good computer skills:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office 365.
- Familiar with the Flocknote parish communication program.
- Familiar with Canva online design program.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite would be helpful but not necessary.
- Has good organizational skills to manage and coordinate projects.
- Candidate will have to pass a criminal background check and take Protecting God’s Children.
