A Clinical Nurse Resource Consultant is Registered Nurse who provides consultation services to a group of facilities. Those services vary somewhat depending on the needs of that facility but in general the services include:
- Provide mentorship to DONs and other facility-based senior clinical staff
- Utilization of CQI principles in identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaboration with the facility team to make improvements
- Regular facility visits to assist in identifying clinical priorities, development of corrective action plans and monitoring of action plans
- Assistance with management of the entire health inspection process from preparation through Plan of Correction development
- Delivery of educational programs
- The Clinical Nurse Consultant helps provide input on, and support for, the implementation of strong clinical systems that result in the highest quality of care. The Clinical Nurse Consultant supports the development and implementation of quality assurance measurements and audits, and assists in improving medical management processes throughout the skilled nursing facilities and market by coordinating and engaging in activities to proactively promote implementation of evidence based best practices. The Clinical Nurse Consultant monitors, performs, and manages quality assurance processes including those supporting compliance to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
- Must have current California Registered Nurse License
- Must have sub-acute experience.
- Must have at least 3 years experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility in California as a DON and Clinical Nurse Consultant.
- Electronic Medical Records EMR knowledge needed.
- Strong CQI knowledge
- Regulatory knowledge – Federal and Title 22
- Strong knowledge of RAI process
- Skills at teamwork; mentorship; communication; public speaking
