JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze the engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations.
- Determine the required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
- Access area to be welded by climbing ladder or on worktable if needed
- Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to QC specification, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
- Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in a jig fixture.
- Ignites torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
- Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
- Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable form.
- Observers tests on welded surface, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
- Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
- Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
- Keep hourly track of output along with daily quality and production sheets
- Daily maintain a clean and orderly work area. Change hoses, fittings, air valves, suspension parts etc., when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the factory. Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
- Update job knowledge by participating in training, follow all Company policies, procedures and Company safety standards in compliance with OSHA and MSDS
- Receive oral and written instructions from Lead Welder, Production Manager, Plant Manager.
- Assume additional duties that may be assigned.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends if necessary.

- Ability to lift, carry or roll items between 75 - 100 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristic of steel fabricating factory floor setting, with the use of hot work permits, fluctuating room and floor temperatures, moving equipment, and electrical, welding and chemical hazards. depending on assigned duties and work shift

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
