POSITION TITLE: Manager, IT Business Analyst
LOCATION: Remote
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, IT and Information Systems
START DATE: May 2024
Summary
The Manager, IT Business Analyst role with a focus on Project Management, will be a critical member of Per Scholas' Enterprise IT team. This role will bridge the gap between IT and the business to ensure that projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. This position will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scopes, and oversee the execution of projects from conception to completion. This position requires an individual with an ability to effectively gather requirements, which will serve as the foundation upon which the project is built; and will meticulously document and analyze these requirements to ensure they are complete, consistent, and aligned with business objectives. Possesses the ability to translate abstract ideas into concrete project plans.
Role/Responsibilities
- Communication
- Excel at bridging the communication gap between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Translate technical jargon into plain language, ensuring that everyone involved in the project understands what's happening, why it's happening, and what's expected
- Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring that everyone remains informed and engaged throughout the project
- Act as a liaison, facilitating productive dialogues between different departments and teams
- Fostering collaboration and a shared sense of purpose
- Business Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects and/or projects with an IT dependency, ensuring they meet quality standards, budgets and timelines
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to propose viable solutions and mitigation strategies
- Liaise with the Enterprise IT team to ensure requirements are understood and implemented as per the business needs
Project Management:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, RAID logs, and status reports
- Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly
- Implement project management best practices and methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall, to drive project success
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project completion
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate project results and identity lessons learned
Knowledge Of:
- Core business functions such as finance, sales, supply chain, HR and operations
- Mapping and analyzing current processes and designing future processes
- Familiarity with modeling tools and methodologies
- IT Architectures, such as Network and Cloud solutions (SaaS, IaaS and PaaS)
- Database management systems and data querying methods
- SDLC models such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and iterative development processes
- Analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions
- Familiarity with compliance requirements that affect IT systems, including data protection laws
Technical Experiences and Requirements
Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field. Combination of experience, education and certifications will be considered. Experience with the nonprofit sector a plus, but not required
- At least 2-3 years of proven experience as an IT Business Analyst, Project Manager, or similar role in project management. Combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with business process re-engineering and requirements gathering techniques
- Proficiency in project management software and tools. Experience with Smartsheets a plus, but not required
- PMP, Agile, or similar project management certification a plus, but not required
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Experience in managing a comprehensive enterprise-wide information security and IT risk management programs. Experience in the higher-educational space is a plus but not required.
- A documented history of successful project completion
- A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex processes

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range between $90,000 and $95,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
