Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated Unification Case Managers to work alongside the Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The Unification Case Managers are responsible for providing case management and family reunification services for Unaccompanied Children (UC). This role requires compassionate individuals with strong organizational skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of case management experience.
- Experience working with Unaccompanied Children (preferred)
- Ability to sucessfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass a Child Abuse/Neglect Report (CAN), or child protective services check, with no adverse findings.
- Must be willing and able to travel to site locations within the United State for up to sixty (60) days in case of an emergency.
- Bilingual, Spanish-speaking (required).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adherence to ORR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate case management and family reunification services for UC.
- Initiate and maintain direct contact with each UC and the UC’s family while the child is in ORR care to advance the child’s family reunification and safe release from the facility.
- In conjunction with program staff, communicate reunification updates to the UC.
- Participate in case staffing’s with the program and field as needed to discuss reunification progress.
- Facilitate the timely release/discharge of children to identified family members or authorized caregiver/custodian, and document the provision of services in each UC’s case file.
- Report significant incidents in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.
- Maintain the UC case file and UC Portal in accordance with ORR policies and procedures.
