Zinc and Aluminum Die Cast Setup/Operator
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Aluminum and Zinc Die Cast Set-Up
- Set up all job orders and perform die changes per schedule
- Operate cranes and lift trucks to transfer dies
- Perform die changes in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner in order to reduce down time during set ups.
- Perform related labor as required to clean up, set up, and organize. Return the dies, tools, and materials to the proper location.
- Perform all required quality checks. Obtain first piece approval before die set is complete.
- Operate manual zinc and aluminum die cast machines- Hand ladle molten metal.
- Abel to work in a team with another set up member to reduce change over time.
- Organize and prioritize in order to meet goals to reduce change over time.
- Communicate with team members including maintenance, supervisors, quality and co-workers regarding any machine issues.
- Review and recommend process improvement(s) opportunities to reduce die set change over time.
- Good communication skills
- Strong mechanical ability
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in Zinc and Aluminum Die Casting is preferred.
- Foundry or equivalent experience is required.
- Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists.
- Proficient with the functions and capabilities of Die Cast/Foundry machinery.
- Flexibility to work extra hours when needed.
- Ability to problem solve and multitask.
Die Repair Machinist
Responsibilities and Authority of Die Repair Machinist:
- Makes repairs to Die Cast Tooling
- Works from drawings to analyze difficulties and diagnose repairs needed.
- Set up & operate standard tool room equipment including manual mills, lathes, and grinders to machine pats for die casting equipment.
- Uses precision measuring devices
- makes new slides, cores, ejector pins, and pinions
- Cleans die cavities
- Polishes molds and cores
- Adjusts gates as needed
- Removes drag, straightens cores, drills waterlines, ect.
- Assists in removing stuck castings from molds as needed.
- Routinely review production schedule and die repairs needed list to ensure dies are ready for production
- Work directly with other department supervisors to expedite priority jobs in order to meet customer delivery requirements
- Ability to communicate with production managers, set up and foundry supervisors to assure dies are operating effectively.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years foundry or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years die repair
- Working collaboratively as part of a team; must be able to communicate effectively
- Ability to problem solve and multitask
- Must be able to drive tow motor

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Tool & die: 2 years (Preferred)
