Currently, Associated Protective Service is seeking a Security Operations Manager to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. The Security Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of the security department, its employees and locations. The Security Operations Manager will manage, organize and control all aspects of physical, personnel and facility security for the organization.
Our ideal candidate would be:
- A CURRENT resident of Nashville, TN and be familiar with the surrounding areas.
- An individual that has had 3-5 years of experience in ARMED security and scheduling numerous sights and employees simultaneously.
Position Summary:
The Security Operations Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of all Security staff and 24-hour Security operations, at all locations, while maintaining a positive and flexible work environment. Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of Operations through a ‘hands-on’ operating style including setting performance standards and monitoring performance; Strategic Thinking, Project Management, Operational Effectiveness are a must.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor daily Security operations for armed/unarmed security staff;
- Responsible for recruiting, selecting, developing, mentoring and coaching staff and inspiring and motivating individual and team performance;
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new staff;
- Prioritize, respond to, and coordinate all staff, departmental and agency security needs;
- Maintain accurate personnel records, documenting all disciplinary actions or all security staff;
- Trains and develops staff member(s) to take on additional responsibilities and build bench strength for company development;
- Maintain accurate record keeping, using all security systems reporting and documentation resources, and assist in the development of security policies, procedures, and forms as necessary;
- Manage, as required, the reporting, investigation and follow up of all accidents and incidents;
- Monitor and procure any necessary security equipment and supplies;
- Participate in staff meetings, planning and other types of meetings and events as required and/or needed;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
Requirements:
- Minimum three (3) years of direct security supervisory experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of security experience.
- High school diploma/GED. Associates/Bachelors preferred.
- Highly effective organization, time management, and prioritization skills are essential.
- Ability to travel to various work sites and be on-call is required.
- Strong organizational skills, including superior written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work at a supervisory level, cooperatively with many departments, clients and other agency staff members;
- Bilingual a plus (English/Spanish preferred)
- Demonstrated analytical skills, complex problem-solving skills, and research skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail and delivering a thorough, high-quality work product is also essential.
- The ability to work under pressure, act decisively, and consistently meet deadlines is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability and willingness to work collaboratively with others are essential.
- Knowledge of Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance rules and regulations.
NOTE: You will NOT be considered for this position if you do not live in the Greater Nashville area or are a former resident within the past five (5) years.
