Job Description:
We are looking for a Paralegal to support our Estate Planning, Tax, and Corporate Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a background in legal document preparation and client communication. While not obligatory, experience with probate procedures and drafting of estate planning documents will be viewed very favorably. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with preparing and filing legal documents related to estate planning, estate administration (probate), tax, and corporate matters.
- Prepare and organize documents for estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
- Support corporate transactions, including entity formation, governance documents, and Colorado Secretary of State filings.
- Draft real estate documents, such as deeds, and review related legal descriptions.
- Maintain and manage client files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Experience with e-filing in state courts (CCE).
- Ability to docket/calendar matter deadlines.
- Administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, conference calls, etc.
- Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide updates on the matter's progress.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to be resourceful in addressing issues and requests with limited direction and can proficiently carry out recurring work and special projects independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal practice management software.
- Document management experience (NetDocuments is preferred but not required).
- Experience Adobe Acrobat DC (e-signature, bates numbering, headers/footers, redaction, etc.).
- Notary Public Commission is helpful, but not required.
- Experience with WealthCounsel is preferred but not required.
Compensation:
The hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $80,000 annually. Actual salary will vary and may be above or below the range based on relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
