The Associate Attorney hired will be responsible for preparing and filing various types of immigration applications.
With the rapid growth of our clients and expansion of our offices, we are looking for skilled and knowledgeable attorneys to join our offices. The ideal candidate will have experience working with legal and non-legal staff.

The Law Offices of Metin Serbest was founded in 2012. We practice Immigration Law, International Investment and Transactional Law. Our client centered approach has led to considerable growth recently. Our Headquarters remains in Chicago, IL, but we now also have offices in New York, NY, Morristown, NJ, San Francisco, CA and Washington, D.C.
We aim to continue our growth through the recruitment of a team of attorneys in the coming years.
Responsibilities and Duties
● Appearing with individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
● Preparing applications and appearing before Asylum Office.
● Preparing defensive asylum applications, supplements and appearing in removal proceedings before EOIR.
● Preparing filing appeal/brief with BIA.
● Stay informed about regulatory, administrative, legislative, and case law changes.
● Draft briefs, motions, affidavits, letters, and responses to further requests.
● Develop and implement strategies to support clients’ legal objectives.
● Develop an expert-level understanding of your client cases.
● Handle client meetings and consultations.
● Manage a large caseload whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
● Partner with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support all client projects.
● Provide support, leadership, training, and guidance to the non-lawyer staff.
● Must be highly organized and have excellent attention to detail.
● Possess strong written, oral and communication skills.
● Must have a passion for humanitarian immigration practice.
● Knowledge of EB-1, E2-NIW, PERM, L-1, H-1B, O-1 and other non-immigrant visas is a plus.
Qualification requirements
● J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar.
● Minimum 3 years’ work experience in the immigration field.
● Must have trial experience.
● Experience working with, training, and supervising non-lawyer staff.
● Leadership skills and strong work ethics.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Must be a team player.
● Fluent in English, foreign language skills welcome.
● Must pass federal background check.
● Must participate in on-going drug/alcohol testing program.

Salary
$80,000 to $120,000 depending on experience.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
