Key Responsibilities:
S-Parameter Measurements & Calibrations:
- High proficiency with S-Parameter measurements and calibrations both on-wafer and in-fixture.
- Must be able to perform VNA calibrations: on-wafer, coax phase-stable cables, and waveguide
- Interpret and analyze measurement data to draw logical conclusions on DUT performance.
High-Power RF Testing:
- Perform high-power RF testing, including Pout vs. Pin, AM-PM, Linearity, and NPR.
- Ensure accurate measurement results through careful setup, calibrations, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Training available for specific high-power RF testing techniques.
On-Wafer Testing:
- Execute on-wafer testing for RFICs, MMICs, and other chip-level devices.
- Proficient in working with wafer probe stations, RF positioners, and RF measurement equipment.
- Conduct accurate wafer-level S-Parameter and load-pull measurements, ensuring consistent calibration and measurement procedures.
- Analyze on-wafer data and provide detailed performance reports.
DUT Types (SSPA, LNAs, Switches, Mixers):
- Test a variety of Device Under Test (DUT) types, including Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), RF Switches, and Mixers.
- Develop appropriate test methodologies and ensure accurate data collection for each DUT type.
Test Methodologies:
- Proficiency with both in-fixture (coax and waveguide) and on-wafer testing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and adherence to RF lab tool etiquette.
Load-Pull & Noise-Parameter Testing:
- Proficiency in load-pull and noise-parameter testing is preferred, with training provided as needed.
Technical Analysis & Documentation:
- Ability to read, write, and document technical information effectively.
- Complete comprehensive technical analyses and generate detailed test reports.
- High computer literacy required
RF Testing of Products Across Form Factors:
- Perform RF testing of products through all form factors, including on-wafer, chip-level, RFICs, MMICs, coax-fixtures, and waveguide.
RF Lab Etiquette:
- Familiar with proper RF-microwave lab etiquette, tool usage, cleanliness, and RF torque wrenches.
- Proficiency with both in-fixture (coax and waveguide) and on-wafer testing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and adherence to RF lab tool etiquette.
Test Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in test software tools such as Python (preferred), Matlab, LabVIEW, etc.
Requirements:
- Education and/or Experience: preferred, but not required for exceptional candidates: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering
- Training can be provided for exceptional candidates that have basic RF-Testing experience
- RF-Concepts: Strong understanding of RF concepts like Return-Loss/VSWR, gain, power gain, Noise Figure, Noise Temperature, dBm, Watts, S-Parameters, Linearity, Smith-Chart, and complex numbers.
- Technical Reading/Writing: Ability to read and write well, with strong technical analysis and documentation skills.
