As a Customer Service Representative at MAI, you will:
- Answer customer inquiries – clarify information the customer provides as well as locate and provide needed information – this may be over the phone or via email!
- Provide empathy and support – sometimes people just need someone to talk to!
- Interact with other departments on behalf of the customer – customers feel taken care of when you save them the hassle of making an extra phone call by communicating with another department, if possible
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities – if one of our companies comes out with a new product, you will be one of the first trained on the specifications in order to provide the best service available!
For this specific position, you will assist with online bookstore program, helping students and parents via chat email and phone, to ensure the customer is getting quality service with their rentals and returns in a timely manner. The Virtual Bookstore Program serves as the official bookstore for over 150 schools nationwide and that number continues to grow each year.
What we need from our representatives:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. – High school students are still considered if employment criteria is met
- Effective communication skills – these are necessary to provide customer service that is both professional and courteous. You MUST know how to open and read/reply to emails and have multiple tabs open and move between them effectively.
- Ability to learn our organization’s products and services – we allow every opportunity to learn about our products and feel confident** when you are speaking to customers!
- Computer skills, including by not limited to: email systems, internet applications, and keyboarding skills
- Ability to work in a team environment – we want you to provide and receive support from your fellow team members!
- Organizational skills – at times, multiple tasks may need completed; this is where your organizational skills can be utilized!
***Technology - In order to work from home, you must have High Speed HARD WIRED Internet, lap top or desktop computer with Windows 10 or higher (no Chromebooks) - absolutely cannot work or train from a mobile phone or tablet.
Must have a USB headset – NO BLUETOOTH headsets are allowed. While our IT team will work with you to get you set-up, we may recommend that you purchase additional equipment in order to run the applications properly.
If additional equipment is necessary, the employee is responsible for purchasing this equipment and the headset.
If it is found that your equipment does meet the requirements during Orientation and Training, you will not be allowed to complete training or continue employment with our company
