PURPOSE OF THE JOB
In the role of a Maintenance Technician you will be tasked with providing support to the facility by focusing on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of material handling equipment and systems. These systems include conveyors, washers, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and boilers, with the goal of ensuring optimal operational performance. Additionally, as a Maintenance Technician , you will be expected to lead by example and provide guidance to Technicians and Helpers at junior levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety standards and policies.
o Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical.
o Perform Preventative, Predictive, and Corrective Maintenance.
o Be familiar with, maintain and operate boilers and steam systems.
o Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control components/systems such as: relay logic, ladder logic diagrams, photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders.
o Work Orders management by inputting appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
o Conduct maintenance and high-level troubleshooting of automation equipment and associated support systems.
o Troubleshoot PLC programs including using ladder logic, components (CPU back planes, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet, Can-bus, etc.)
o Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials up to 480V.
o Create and Execute Daily Work plans to include coordinating with Operations, locating parts/tools for repair, scheduling time with equipment, etc.
o Mentor technicians by providing guidance and directions to help them achieve goals.
o Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
o Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet organizational needs.
o A minimum of 3 years of experience in operation machinery and at least 1 year of experience in overseeing, delegating, and providing leadership to other employees.
o Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is desirable.
o Proven interpersonal and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
o Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
o Comfortable with change and capable of working in a dynamic environment.
o Machine safety awareness and oversight is critical.
WORKING CONDITIONS
o Availability for rotating shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential.
o Future domestic travel may be necessary for training and to visit other locations.
o All workstations are climate-controlled for optimal comfort.
o Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that undergoes frequent changes.
o Able to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, and twist for up to 10 hours.
o Able to push, pull and lift 50+ lbs.
