Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers to their destinations in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the bus
- Maintain a clean and presentable bus interior and exterior
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the bus
- Collect fares and issue tickets or receipts as necessary
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
- Follow designated routes and schedules, ensuring on-time arrivals and departures
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in proper working condition
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the appropriate authorities
Experience:
- Previous experience as a bus driver is preferred but not required
- Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals with special needs is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with passengers of diverse backgrounds, including those who are multilingual or bilingual (Spanish language skills are highly desirable)
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations
- Excellent written communication skills for completing necessary paperwork and reports
