SUMMARY
Perform mildly complex setups and operation of production machines for standard parts and fittings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work from shop prints, work orders, trades training, written and verbal instructions to follow production procedures and methods to produce finished pieces within tolerances and specifications.
Request tooling and fixtures for set ups.
Identify and check over correct material or stock.
Use data terminal for set up times, run times and signing on.
Adjust speeds, feeds and tooling for clearances, dimensions and variety of materials.
Produce first piece and measure dimensions for subsequent production following quality procedures.
Count production and record.
Set up equipment for special or individual parts as directed.
Assist other personnel with more complex operation to advance skills.
Calibrate, adjust and repair measuring instruments within job knowledge such as, but not limited to ring and plug gauges, micrometers, socket welds and dial calipers.
Operate CNC miller, grinders, engine lathes, drill presses, bench equipment, data terminal and use precision measuring instruments.
Refer questionable conditions to supervisor or appropriate personnel.
Responsible to prepare and submit/record production records, accurate piece counts, reports and forms required by company procedures.
Observe all company policies and regulations including safety, housekeeping and quality of work with support of ISO procedures and standards.
Utilize individually and/or further the use of total quality concepts, tools and techniques to support continuous quality improvement in all processes in which the position participates with a positive "Can Do" attitude.
Support, encourage and maintain a positive team working atmosphere throughout the company.
Perform other duties as requested or necessary to meet business conditions and changes.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
