JOB SUMMARY
The bartender is responsible for providing excellent service to every customer. Responsible for serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers throughout the restaurant; ensures customers meet age requirements for the purchase of alcohol and tobacco products. Responsible for following all Sokaogon Gaming Enterprise Corporation (SGEC) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Sokaogon Chippewa Gaming Commission (SGC) Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS) and Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), and all Tribal, Federal, State, Local laws and regulations concerning the serving of alcoholic beverages.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project a professional appearance and demeanor while presenting an image of excitement, enthusiasm and fun to provide our customers with the ultimate in customer service and entertainment.
- Safeguarding of casino assets.
- Responsibly serving customers alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Prepare beverages for Food Servers to serve the refreshment needs of the customer.
- Adhere to Wisconsin Safe Serve Standards and Safe Food Handling Standards.
- Adhere to SGEC Alcohol Cut-off SOP.
- Adhere to all SGEC Departmental Internal Controls and SOPs.
- Processes all cash transactions by accepting money and making necessary change accurately and presents customer with a bar receipt.
- Any miscellaneous duties as assigned.
UNIFORM:
- Department issued shirt
- Black dress pants/slacks with no pockets or pockets sewn shut.
- Black non-slip shoes and black socks
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Two forms of ID, one of which must be a photo ID.
- Must be able to take and pass the Responsible Beverage Servers Course and be licensed through the Town of Nashville, WI to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must submit and pass a drug and alcohol test upon hire and at random per SGEC Employee Handbook.
- Be able to pass a background investigation.
- Successfully complete a 60-day probationary period.
- Pass a Title 31 Compliance Review within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
- Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that customers will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation.
- Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
- Must be able to interact well with the public and co-workers.
- Must maintain knowledge of current casino events, promotions, and attractions.
- Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of many customers.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Physically able to perform all aspects of the position.
- Must possess basic mathematical skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
- Must have the ability to balance cash drawer at end of shift.
- Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work.
- Native American preference is granted according to P.L. 93-638.
