Overview: ESTABLISHED SPECIALTY OPHTHALMOLOGY GROUP PRACTICE in NEW ORLEANS seeks a qualified full-time ophthalmic technician for its New Orleans location.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Rooms patients
- Works up patients
- Performs pre-testing and diagnostic testing
- Assists physicians with procedures
- Maintains exam rooms including stocking and cleaning
- Checks and stocks travel bags and equipment for satellites
- Assists with maintaining and ordering medical supplies
- Performs other duties as assigned
- No travel required
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of anatomy of the eye, ocular conditions and ocular imaging equipment
- Ability to transfer mobile patients to exam chair and occasionally move patients in a wheelchair
- Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills including use of standard office programs
- Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to pleasantly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
Position Qualifications:
- Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year work experience as an ophthalmic technician at an eye care facility/practice (preferred)
- Citizenship: United States Citizenship
- Education: Graduate of an ophthalmic medical assistant/technician training program; active COA/COT certification (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
