Description
The clinical account manager (AM) role supports Health Strategy clients on all pharmacy activities, resolving problems of diverse scope and complexity. The clinical AM utilizes their broad understanding of managed care pharmacy to develop and/or implement strategies to mitigate cost trend while improving health outcomes for our clients and their members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client Management
- Develop deep and trusted relationships with key client contacts and a goal of 100% satisfaction and retention
- Customize approach for each client based on contracted Scope of Services
- Leverage pharmacy benefit experience and knowledge to assist clients in optimizing their pharmacy benefit programs and vendors
- Assist in new business opportunities, including finalist presentations and RFP processes
- Understand the pharmacy supply chain and educate clients routinely
- Collaborate with data analysts to evaluate economic impact related to benefit design changes, drug coverage decisions, vendor program participation/discontinuation, etc.
Quarterly & Annual Client Reporting:
- Leverage internal software applications and data analyst assets to complete quarterly & annual client presentations and related reports
- Present quarterly & annual client reports to clients
- Direct and/or oversee client annual financial reconciliations
Client Implementation Support:
- Work with data analysts as necessary to ensure a smooth transition when clients change vendors

o Vendor Management
Internal Process Improvement & Innovation:
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Strategic Advisors, Clinicians, and firm leadership to:
o Identify impactful trends
o Share client successes
o Recognize opportunities to drive efficiencies
o Provide competitive intelligence
o Improve client deliverables
Clinical Strategy:
- Participate in Health Strategy’s New Drug to Market (NDTM) Process
o Work directly with client to implement NDTM process
o Participate in clinical drug reviews, criteria development, and drug coverage recommendations
o Develop drug utilization tools to mitigate clients cost and trend
o Provide clinical guidance to clients regarding optimal drug coverage
- Serve as a clinical subject matter expert for both clients and the firm
- Conduct analysis on drug utilization trends to evaluate and inform formulary strategies
- Assist in creating and managing clinical tools for use across the Health Strategy organization
Qualifications and Requirements
· RPh or PharmD required
· 8+ years of managed care, pharmacy benefit, and/or pharmacy consulting experience
· 4+ years of direct client-facing experience
· Ability to analyze data and develop actionable recommendations
· Experience influencing client decision makers
· Entrepreneurial attitude coupled with strong business acumen
· Discipline to effectively work remotely
· Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required; Tableau experience is a plus
· Ability to travel up to approximately 20%
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
