We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Medical Biller to join a fast pace, growing medical team! Must be able to work independently in a high volume, fast paced atmosphere. Minimum of 2 years in collections and medical billing experience highly preferred.
Duties will include but are not limited to: Posting payments, Processing CMS1500 Claims to PIP carriers, Responding to EOBs, Preparing Demands & Aging Receivables.
Who We are Looking for:
We are looking for a detail-oriented, excellent communicator, experienced medical billing specialist that has knowledge of the medical legal space, experience billing out for workers compensation and personal injury cases, and experience working through claims/denials.
Job Details include:
As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies
Your role will involve working with medical records, coding systems, and various billing software programs
Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10 and other coding systems
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper in a timely manner
Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues
Communicate with insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Stay updated on changes in medical coding and billing practices
Effectively work and communicate with other team members and supervisors
Other needs related to the billing department as they arise
Job Requirements:
Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
Knowledge of the Medical Legal/Accident & Injury Space
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10), and medical billing processes
Familiarity with medical records management systems (EHR) and billing software
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and healthcare providers
Time management skills in order to work through and send out processed claims in an efficient and timely manner
Salary Range: Based on Experience
$19hr - $20hr
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 8-5pm
Friday 8-4pm
