Job Summary: The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative direction, supervision, and management of the nursing services to ensure quality patient care and treatment. Provides treatment to patients within the scope of their license assisting physicians and nurse practitioners with patient care.
Additional Department Summary: The Nursing Supervisor manages daily clinical activities and operations for University Medical Center Clinics located in Demopolis, AL and Livingston, AL.
Responsible for direct patient care activities to the highest degree of licensure. Under the leadership and oversight of the Chief Nursing Officer, manages daily clinic operations, including supervision of clinic personnel and assisting with establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures for clinical staff. Responsible for working with the clinic medical directors to manage medical care provided in the clinics. Facilitates support for providers - physicians, medical students, and residents to support patient-centered medical home model for the delivery of quality healthcare.
Partners with clinic medical directors and providers to ensure academic and clinical experience for medical students, residents, and other learners prepares them for success in post-education endeavors. Provides excellent service and performs job duties/responsibilities consistent with UA’s values and principles. Sets an example by consistently modeling high standards of performance, honesty, and truthfulness.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of RN experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience; OR associate's degree and six (6) years of RN experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: State of Alabama valid/current Registered Nurse License.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to perform patient care as directed by a physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified medical professional. Knowledge of electronic health record systems. Efficient and accurate computer and data entry skills. Excellent communication, public relations and customer service and telephone etiquette skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience as a member of a treatment team in a primary care ambulatory environment preferred.
