Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical care to join our healthcare team for a Director position. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting, ensuring the well-being of patients during their hospital stay. 585 bed facility.
5-10+ years of RN experience (MUST HAVE Med/Surg experience or something extremely similar (willing to consider PCU/stepdown units as well, or cardiac-type units for the Med/Surg position that has a little bit of a cardiac focus) in an acute hospital setting, plus 3-5+ years of progressive leadership experience (Charge RN, Supervisor, Manager, Director) – Candidates MUST have Manager-level experience MUST HAVE AT LEAST 2 YR OF DIRECTOR LEVEL EXP IN A MED SURG UNIT.
The Director of Nursing manages the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) and recommends qualified competent persons to provide care. Integrates department services with the hospital’s primary function. Coordinates and integrates services within departments. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provisions of services. Supervises nursing staff and assures staff competency. Develops, markets, implements, and evaluates new services and programs. Participates in outside source selection for needed services. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for persons in the department. Assumes the duties of the Associate Nursing Executive or Administrative Coordinator as assigned.
What qualifications you will need
- Graduate from accredited school of nursing, Bachelor of Science degree required. Masters prepared preferred.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- Certification in area of specialty preferred.
- BLS required and maintained. ACLS optional.
- Five (5) years of current clinical nursing experience required.
- Must have at least ___2_+ years of Dir level experiencein a Med Surg unit or 5+ years of strong manager level exp in a Med Surg unit will suffice
