We are looking for experienced Class A, Delivery Route Drivers to serve our supply food chain industry in a safe and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Drive truck and delivery merchandise indicated on route.
2. Aware that driver may be called to complete pickups.
3. Aware that driver may be called to complete an intercompany route.
4. Inspect truck prior to operating for proper amounts of fuel, oil, water, and see that the tires are inflated and that the lights and brakes work properly. Maintenance log sheet are to be turned in daily.
5. Make minor emergency repairs to truck such as installing light bulbs, fuses, and tire chains.
6. Detect truck driving and operating problems.
7. Follow procedures involved in making deliveries.
8. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with customers and any other outside agencies associated with Tapia Brothers Company.
9. Use Cheetah and company provided cell phone to fulfill job functions.
10. Adhere to federal statutes and regulations.
11. Must wear safety equipment. Non slip resistant shoes.
12. Ensure that truck is clean post and pre shift.
13. Aware of GPS tracking; Cheetah.
14. Aware of Drive Cam; Lytx
15. Must attend all driver safety meetings.
16. Exhibit a personality and demonstrate interpersonal skills to relate well with customers.
17. Must be able to add and subtract.
18. Must call customer service with any questions or concerns in regards to merchandise on invoice.
19. In the event of theft or robbery an investigation will take place.
20. Pallets must be stalked in unit when route is finished.
21. Must wear uniform at all times when provided upon completion of probation.
22. No Smoking in the units.
REQUIREMENTS
- Have 2 years' experience with ROUTE DELIVERIES driving Commerical trucks.
- Hold and maintain a driver’s license with no major violations.
- DOT Medical card valid.
- MVR points cannot exceed more than 2 points.
All drivers will be enrolled into Highway Patrol Pull Notice and DOT Random Drug Testing Selection. If your name is selected for random drug testing your immediate supervisor will contact you and are mandated by law to take the test. Refusal to go will be a positive drug test and will be reported and will be automatically terminate due to failure to comply with DOT regulations and company policy.
SCHEDULE
· Monday through Friday, possibly Saturdays (if needed)
· Thirty-minute lunch, two ten-minute breaks
· If you are going to be tardy and/or absent it is your responsibility to contact your immediate supervisor before your scheduled start time. If you are absent two consecutive working days a doctor’s note is required.
· Driver’s in and out hours are subject to change on a daily basis within the legal driving requirements.
