The role (on-site)
A/P Specialist – Construction & General Contracting
As an A/P Specialist, you’ll have 3-5 years of previous experience in a small or large finance team in construction or working for a subcontractor. Reporting directly to the CFO, you enjoy working with a team, have a full understanding of accounting in the construction industry/progress billing and are hands on. Fluency in Spanish a plus!!
Your responsibilities:
- Manage the entire AP process using Quickbooks
- Maintain excellent relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Record entries by job and trade and process all payments
- Keep accurate records of purchase orders and payments
- Previous experience with lien waivers
- Collaborate with accounting team for day-to-day accounting needs
- Work with purchasing manager on purchase orders
- Perform general job accounting duties including reconciliations, journal entries, monthly closings, coding and job audits
- Work with internal teams including project managers and service department
- Support accounting on other functions as assigned
Your skills:
- 3-5+ years’ experience in an A/P role or accounting role with A/P experience
- Previous experience working with AIA requisitions
- Notary Public license preferred
- Proficient in Quickbooks and general office software
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Great organization skills
- Must have thorough knowledge of accounting and payroll principles and procedures
- Build great relationships with internal teams, subcontractors and vendors
