PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Internal Audit Manager – Corporate Audit is responsible for providing a leadership role in the delivery of value-added independent and objective risk-based internal audit assurance and advisory services for the corporate audits. The Internal Audit Manager will proactively coach junior team members by providing candid and constructive feedback.
Job Responsibilities

Lead projects that may be enterprise-wide, or Corporate specific in scope. Lead planning, scoping, and development of the audit test plan and coordinate engagement resources and engagement assignments among staff auditors effectively to complete assignments within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Lead internal audit testing and design audit programs for higher-risk or complex processes.

Develop meaningful, relevant, and well-supported audit reports that align with risk appetite framework and present these reports to key department stakeholders.

Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify key control points for audit testing.

Provide coaching and guidance in development of junior team members by taking an active role in training and mentoring.

Demonstrate effective challenge by providing deep subject matter knowledge industry related knowledge to support business partnership efforts.

Develop and maintain relationships with assigned lines of business or business units. Accordingly, understand and evaluate associated risk profiles to help ensure appropriate audit coverage. Participate in key/critical projects and task forums.

Manage timely and quality delivery of multiple tasks, including audits, projects and special assignments. Further develop and maintain specialization and expertise in one or more specific lines of business. Keep abreast of current trends, new developments,

Provide advisory services, as necessary, in the implementation of new systems, processes and changes to existing systems, standards and procedures.

Exhibit strong project management skills and build relationships with leaders of business operations.

Communicate effectively with senior management, presenting audit findings, recommendations, and insights in a clear and concise manner.

Build meaningful relationships with business partners in order to understand processes and identify risks and opportunities to add value
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
Ability to work independently while exercising judgement in risk-based assessments difficult or complex nature.

Interact comfortably with Senior/Executive level management.

Poultry industry knowledge and experience preferred but not required.

Professional Accounting Certification (i.e., CIA, CPA, CMA, CFE, etc.) or pursuit of such Certification strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Financial Analysis, Continuous Auditing and Big Data.

Experience in internal auditing in conformance with the IIA’s International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, COSO frameworks, and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of theory and practice of operational internal controls and protection of company assets.

Thorough knowledge of Internal Auditing and current on regulatory trends.

Ability to provide leadership & guidance, and comply with the IIA professional standards, GAAP, IFRS, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, SEC Staff Bulletins, PCAOB, FASB, etc.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail.

Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, using detailed written reports and narratives, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.

Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Sound work ethic, high degree of personal integrity, honesty and moral character. Must behave ethically.
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.

Master’s Degree preferred but not required.

Five (5) + years professional Internal/External Audit work experience or equivalent
-
Three (3) + years relevant supervisory experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods

Ability to work in cold/humid or hot/dusty environments as needed

Occasionally required to travel to locations in the performance or supervision of audits

Travel approximately 10-30% as necessary to accomplish IA objectives.

May require inventory observations at Plant or Public Freezers, Coolers, Plants, Feed Mill, Hatcheries, etc.
