Job Description:
The General Manager at KYU is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our restaurant, which includes selecting, developing, and managing the performance of employees. They also handle inventory and ordering of food and supplies, maximize profitability, and ensure guest satisfaction with their dining experience. The General Manager reports directly to the Regional Manager.
Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to high standards of food, beverage, and service quality with a sense of urgency, professionalism, and friendliness.

Create a welcoming atmosphere, providing attentive, detail-oriented, friendly, and courteous service.

Proactively engage with guests to build loyalty and establish recognition.

Handle guest requests and feedback gracefully and positively.

Address guest complaints professionally and effectively.

Have a strong understanding of the local market and surrounding establishments.

Conduct regular evaluations of service quality through audits and guest/employee feedback.

Maintain the highest level of safety, security, sanitation, and cleanliness in the facility.

Proficiency in using basic computer applications and POS systems.

Recruit, train, and develop a team focused on guest satisfaction.

Ensure accountability within the team.

Foster good relationships with vendors to maintain quality and consistency.

Instill a culture of excellence and inspire confidence among the restaurant staff, demonstrating strong leadership skills.

Make sound decisions in urgent situations to protect the restaurant and the company.

Assist in conducting quarterly evaluations for restaurant staff.

Follow company guidelines for effective labor management.

Achieve financial goals specific to the assigned area of responsibility.

Maintain control over cash, credit, and other receipts by following company cash handling and reconciliation procedures.

Perform weekly inventory counts, monitor costs, and manage maintenance.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-volume restaurant management.

Demonstrated understanding of business operations and financials.

Ability to manage shifts, make daily decisions, create schedules, and plan efficiently.

Dedication to creating memorable dining experiences by exceeding guest expectations.

Knowledge of flavors, aromas, and characteristics of food ingredients.

Commitment to maintaining product quality and restaurant cleanliness.

Ability to perform effectively in a high-volume environment with calmness and efficiency.

Proficiency in using POS systems and online reservation systems.

Experience coaching, leading, and developing a restaurant team.
