The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our facilities. From conducting preventive maintenance to responding to repair requests, the Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the overall integrity of our properties. The Maintenance Technician would support two locations: Hays Communities YMCA and Camp Moody.
You will also support the enterprise's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and the core character values of the YMCA. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will partner closely with other senior leaders throughout the enterprise to achieve outcomes.
How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)
Safety and Emergency Response:
- Prioritize and repair all safety issues within the facility.
- Address all facility and maintenance safety issues within 24 hours.
- Aid in periodic facility inspections to ensure compliance with state, local, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist the site team before, during, and after any large-scale emergencies.
Grounds and Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure the grounds are clean and maintained at all times.
- Ensure equipment on each site is properly maintained.
Preventive Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance issues, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) issues.
- Generate work orders for all repairs, both internally and externally.
- Ensure proper function of all mechanical and electrical systems.

- Complete other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Community Enterprise
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- 3-5 years of facility maintenance experience is required.
- 3-5 years of required electrical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair experience.
- 2-3 years of painting and minor carpentry required.
- 1-2 years using Service Channel or equivalent maintenance system.
- HVAC certification required.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements:
In the position of maintenance technician, the employee will regularly engage in sitting, standing, walking, working outdoors in hot temperatures, bending, communicating verbally, and lifting up to 50lbs. Additionally, they may be required to move items such as equipment, furniture, and/or materials. Compensation: $52,000 - $55,000 per year, DOE
