We are in search of adding a Metal Fabrication & Assembly, Shop Lead. As a Metal Fabrication and Assembly Shop Lead, you will oversee the daily operations of our metal fabrication and assembly shop. You will be responsible for ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. Additionally, you will supervise a team of metal fabricators and assemblers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Daily Operations: Direct and supervise all activities within the metal fabrication and assembly shop, including cutting, welding, bending, assembling, and finishing processes.
- Manage Production Schedule: Coordinate with the production planning team to ensure that production targets are met efficiently and on time.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all fabricated and assembled parts meet company standards and customer specifications.
- Resource Management: Manage material inventory, equipment maintenance, and tooling requirements to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the fabrication and assembly team, including training, performance evaluations, and addressing any issues or concerns that arise.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Communication: Maintain open communication channels with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to facilitate smooth workflow and resolve any issues that may arise.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in metal fabrication and assembly, with a minimum of [2] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, equipment, and materials.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
