Landscape Team Member
Job Description: The landscape team member is under the direction and guidance of the Landscape Manager and Team Leader. They know and practice the standards and protocol that NWLC adheres to, shows leadership and initiative, and successfully takes direction from upper management. They also demonstrate a clear understanding and knowledge of landscaping procedures and principles (how we do things and why). This team member is also committed to continuing skill-building and education in the field of landscaping, horticulture, and related fields.
Essential Duties:
Maintenance Team
Arrives on time prepared and willing to work in most weather conditions. Wears appropriate clothing/gear as indicated in policy and guideline handbook. Reviews work orders and daily tasks with the Landscape and Garden Manager and/or Team Leader. Understands the scope of the work involved and asks questions when needed. Communicates effectively. Organizes tools and some materials needed for job sites. Understands and is clear on what tools are needed to eliminate redundancy, excess, and unnecessary trips back to the shop. Loads trucks safely and efficiently with focused attention. Ensures tools and equipment are returned clean, organized and in their proper place of storage. Ensures trucks in direct use are cleaned out properly at the end of the day. Tools with batteries that require charging should be put on their charging stations at the end of the day. General daily tasks include Weeding, edging, fertilization, mulching, and basic pruning/deadheading. General and special tasks are under the direction of the Team Manager and Team Leader. Attention to neatness, organization, and efficiency with tasks being performed. Strives to pursue continued landscape education. This includes understanding plant species, Latin names, properties and any other information that pertains directly to their work and related fields. Upholds professionalism on job sites. Understands and practices adhering to our company culture especially during communications/interactions with other staff members.

Construction Team
Arrives on time prepared and willing to work in most weather conditions. Wears appropriate clothing/gear as indicated in policy and guideline handbook. Reviews work orders and daily tasks with the Construction Manager and/or Team Leader. Understand the scope of the work involved and asks questions when needed. Communicates effectively. Organizes tools and some materials needed for job sites. Understands and is clear on what tools are needed to eliminate redundancy, excess, and unnecessary trips back to the shop. Loads trucks safely and efficiently with focused attention. Ensures tools and equipment are returned clean, organized and in their proper place of storage. Ensures trucks in direct use are cleaned out properly at the end of the day. Tools with batteries that require charging should be put on their charging stations at the end of the day. Uses the utmost care when operating trucks, equipment, and machinery. Takes safety precautions when using power tools and equipment which includes among other things using proper eye, ear, and body protection. Does not assume knowledge when in doubt and asks the team leader or manager for further guidance and instruction while learning how to operate power tools and equipment. Strives to pursue continued landscape construction education and licensing in related fields. Upholds professionalism on job sites. Understands and practices adhering to our company culture especially during communications/interactions with other staff members.
