Responsibilities:
- Represent employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation cases
- Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters
- Prepare and conduct depositions, hearings, and trials
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes
- Stay current with California workers' compensation laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required
- Recently passed the California Bar Exam, pending Bar results, or significant interest/experience in workers' compensation
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
