GC Solar is searching for A BOOKKEEPER who will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of the finance department by working with the Group Finance Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Recording Financial Transactions:
o Record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
o Maintain and update general ledgers, journals, and other financial records.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
o Process and manage accounts payable (bills, invoices) and accounts receivable (customer payments).
o Reconcile and monitor accounts to ensure timely payments and collections.
3. Bank Reconciliation:
o Reconcile bank statements with the company’s financial records to ensure accuracy.
o Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
4. Financial Reporting:
o Prepare financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
o Generate periodic financial reports for management review.
5. Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
o Monitor and report on budget variances and financial performance.
6. Tax Preparation:
o Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
o Maintain accurate records for tax audits and inquiries.
7. Compliance and Auditing:
o Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.
o Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
8. Expense Tracking:
o Track and manage company expenses, ensuring all expenditures are properly documented and approved.
o Monitor and control petty cash transactions.
9. Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate inventory records and perform periodic stock counts.
o Reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure proper valuation of inventory.
10. Data Entry and Accuracy:
o Enter financial data accurately and efficiently.
o Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of financial information.
11. Software and Tools:
o Utilize accounting software (e.g., OMNI) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for financial tasks.
o Stay updated with new accounting technologies and tools.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Accounting Knowledge:
o Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
o Familiarity with financial statements, ledgers, and journals.
2. Attention to Detail:
o High level of accuracy and attention to detail in recording financial transactions and preparing reports.
3. Analytical Skills:
o Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.
4. Proficiency in Accounting Software:
o Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.

o Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

o Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and vendors.

Educational Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
