The Convenience Store Manager will direct, promote, and coordinate the convenience store in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- He/she concentrates their efforts on customer service in a positive and friendly manner and is able to perform all duties assigned to the Assistant Manager and Customer Service Representative.
- Will establish work schedules for the daily operation of the store. In scheduling, maintains staffing levels which follow the outlined labor budget.
- Screen and interview job applicants and complete performance appraisals on store employees.
- Prepare and process daily paperwork, deposits and invoices as instructed.
- Maintain adequate inventories by ordering from approved vendors as needed. Processes all invoices upon delivery by the store’s vendors and is accountable and responsible for minimizing shrink of store inventory.
- Follow all directives from the Administrative office and branded supplier regarding brand policies, programs, and promotions.
- Supervise, train and direct employees in the operation of the store and high-level customer service. Delegates duties as required in order to operate a clean, efficient and safe store.
- Follow all Serve Safe guidelines in reference to safe food handling for food service offerings. This will include ordering and receiving food service supplies, inventory, scheduling/monitoring food service production, labeling and monitoring levels.
- Assist in facilitating complete store inventories at other locations as needed.
- Assist in training new Managers within our area stores as well training fellow Managers in new operational techniques as needed.
- May be required to temporarily fill-in or replace the Manager at another store within the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management and will enforce and uphold the cooperative’s credit policy.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience Required: Must have five (5) years’ experience in retail management, preferably in a convenience store. Possession of a Class A/B UST certification is preferred or must be obtained within 90 days. Food Safety certification is preferred or must be obtained within 90 days.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Excellent communication skills required to work with customers, employees, management, and vendors.
- Above average technical/computer skills are required to work with Patron Points, online sales/delivery and app promotional opportunities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
