Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Ensures that all scheduling processes (nominations, confirmations, etc.) take place in a correct and timely manner with regard to pipeline and department deadlines. Initiates and maintains daily spreadsheets. Analyzes data, monitors and reconciles imbalances, sets up make-up/pay-back schedules with appropriate shippers, and initiates settlements. Schedules and tracks CES natural gas transactions for an assigned region. Schedules gas purchases and sales and records data in Calpine systems to document activity and support profit and loss reporting. Ensures that all trades are in accordance with Calpine risk policies and if not, takes action to resolve. Duties include interpreting and communicating production, consumption and scheduled data and providing daily trading positions; scheduling/routing transactions entered Calpine systems and validating transactions against pipeline nominations; making economic decisions in routing gas, managing imbalances and assisting in sourcing decisions; and continually monitor variables and conditions that may impact market conditions and communicate findings. Also performs data reconciliation activity in Horizon. May also assist with routing and deal input strategies in ETRM. Additionally, supports Calpine’s natural gas physical trading and risk management activity. Responsible for trading desk operations. Transacts for short-term and intermediate commodity trading transactions. Specializes in the 30-day spot market. Uses futures and other financial tools as a service for customers and for the internal hedging of deals. Has enough knowledge of gas control, capacity release markets, storage, and pipeline transportation to play a major role in daily sourcing optimization. Also involved in marketing, fundamental analysis, position management, position reconciliation, project-oriented work and deal analysis.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Seasoned professional; typically requires 5+ years’ experience including working knowledge of trading tools and indices, marginal and average pricing and generation commitment techniques.
