Job Overview
We are seeking a teachable, motivated individual to join our team as an Energy Auditor.
The candidate we are looking for should value integrity, enjoy working in teams of people, and have a desire for professional development. Candidates must be comfortable working with customers in-person and in residential homes. The Energy Auditor will perform energy audits through NYSERDA programs to assess current energy use then make recommendations to optimize efficiency and minimize cost for homeowners.
Responsibilities
· Visually inspects buildings and related systems including mechanical, electrical, and process systems to determine energy consumption in each area or system.
· Uses a variety of tools such as combustion analyzers and thermal imagery to collect field data related to energy use; analyzes the results.
· Performs appropriate and applicable tests to determine the extent of inefficiency.
· Establishes baselines for energy use and needs by quantifying energy consumption.
· Provides thorough education to end users regarding energy efficiency; fields and answers related questions.
· Identifies energy saving opportunities, calculating potential savings, and prioritizing areas with the most return on investment.
· Composes and presents audit reports containing the results of the energy analysis and recommendations for improved energy efficiency.
· Recommends alternate energy sources and other energy efficient technologies.
· Project Management within assigned jobs.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Training Requirements
· Complete Building Science Certifications
· Building Analyst Technician (BA-T)
· Building Analyst Professional (BA-P)
· NYSERDA Software Program
· Energy Audits
· In office CRM System
· Building Work scopes for residential homes
· Residential Construction experience
· to have a holistic overview of complex situations
Compensation
Salary base of $45,000 plus 2% commission (posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Standard reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity).
