Aviator College is seeking, for its Kissimmee Fl campus, an instructor with a vision of excellence in instruction and a commitment to employing a variety of formats, settings and styles to lead students to successful completion of their FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate and associated Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
Aviator College seeks instructors who can adapt to a variety of teaching situations and who have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding, under general direction of the Director of Education, conducts quality classroom instruction required in the professional pilot programs at the Aviator College of Aeronautical Science and Technology.
The person hired for this full-time position serves in a combined role and is responsible for providing classroom instruction in accordance with the Aviator College, and FAA regulations and procedures, and developing course content, preparing schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring the course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student in each course.
Job Requirements
- Must be FAA-certificated with an FAA mechanic certificate having ratings appropriate to those subjects taught (other than certain general subjects such as mathematics, physics and drawing)
- An individual with a FAA mechanic's certificate authorized for Airframe and Powerplant may be qualified to teach all classes: General, Airframe and Powerplant classes.
- An individual with a FAA mechanic's certificate authorized for Airframe only may be qualified to teach all General and Airframe classes only.
- An individual with a FAA mechanic's certificate authorized for Powerplant only may be qualified to teach all General and Powerplant classes only.
- Have a minimum of 5 (five) years of experience working in the aviation industry as an Aircraft Mechanic, either in Commercial Aviation, General Aviation, Military Aviation or a combination of the above.
Additional Work Requirements:
- Must have 3 YEARS experience in teaching in a FAA-approved Part 147 AMT program
- Be able to work as a team member.
- Exhibit superior interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and instructor certification appropriate to the position sought
- Knowledge of various flight instruction instrumentation and equipment
- Interpersonal/human relations skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to instruct/teach/tutor
