Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to recipes and quality standards. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our customers receive delicious and well-presented meals in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
- Assist with menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes
- Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
Skills:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of menu planning and banquet preparation is a plus
- Leadership qualities with the ability to guide and train other kitchen staff members
- Bartending skills are advantageous but not required
- Familiarity with restaurant management software is a plus
