Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Manager leads and directs the maintenance team, ensuring asset reliability through best practices. The role includes managing Mechanics, Welders, Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, a Maintenance Planner, and a Storekeeper.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety in all maintenance tasks, working with EHS personnel to improve site EHS performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes to enhance safety, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Plan and implement methods to improve operations, reduce costs, and optimize labor and materials usage.
- Oversee maintenance shops with advanced Mechanical and E&I skills.
- Develop a 5-year maintenance plan and maintain a metrics dashboard for performance improvement.
- Create and manage yearly and monthly maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead the site Work Management Program (WMP) for cost competitiveness.
- Support and utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System and other tools.
- Direct Outage Planning and Maintenance teams for effective shutdown implementation.
- Apply lean strategies to improve reliability and address performance gaps.
- Set expectations for reliability efforts, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive maintenance.
- Inspect equipment for operational standards and resolve maintenance issues with management and engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in waste-to-energy, power, industrial, or chemical plant maintenance.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's/Engineering degree preferred.
- Knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies.
- Proficient in ALM/Peoplesoft, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation, including the National Electric Code and NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations.
- Experience with planning & scheduling, preventive maintenance, and outages.
- Understanding of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance practices.
- Familiarity with reliability tools such as RCFA and FMEA.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, and lift/carry 50lbs.
- Ability to work from heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
Compensation:
- $120,000-$140,000 per year base salary--depending on experience
- 15% annual bonus potential
