The Grants Coordinator supports the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Principal Investigators in a broad variety of situations to assist in the administrative coordination of research activities, meetings, grants applications, and activities related to the administrative management of the Bedford VA Research Corporation (BRCI). Will require clearance to work in a government facility, fingerprinting required.
Responsibilities
- Assist Investigators in the pre-award/submission process of non-VA grants; this includes working closely with researchers and administrators to prepare supporting documents, develop budgets, etc.
- Maintain comprehensive records for all grants in collaboration with Grants Accounting Specialist
- Assist with scheduling, logistics, and materials for Board meetings
- Manage BRCI SOPs, handbooks, and employee files as they relate to grants
- Maintain a well-organized office and working atmosphere for visitors and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Good interpersonal skills, detail oriented, and responsible
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to systematically organize files and records
- Ability to work smoothly with a variety of personalities and correspond orally and in writing with research investigators and staff, as well as a variety of VA and non-VA professionals and support personnel
- Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently, cope with tight timelines, redirect effort when priorities change, and accommodate interruptions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret RFPs and similar documents and respond to inquiries regarding grants and grant submissions
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as budgeting and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot
- Familiarity with computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and ability to use standard office equipment

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
