At this time, we are seeking a Pantry/Prep Cook (Part Time available) to join our team! If you would enjoy working in a luxury senior living community this is the job for you. Benefits include free shift meal, paid lunch break, overtime pay for holidays, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Prep Cook include, but are not limited to:
· Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager
· Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
· Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
· Food Preparation - Set-up the pantry station to include all cold food items, preparation equipment, plate ware, food ingredients, garnishes, and supply items needed for effective operation of the station.
· Store foods in designated areas, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and food spoilage
· Preps pantry (salads, sandwiches, desserts) for service
· Preparing and properly cooking all items needed for the day’s operation
· Making cold appetizers, including salads, vegetables, and bruschettas
· Garnishing dishes with spices, nuts, fruit, and vegetables
· Preparing vinaigrettes, dips, and dressings
· Plating and light cooking during meal periods
· Sterilize kitchen equipment at the end of your shift
· Maintain a clean station at all times
· Above all else, provide quality food product that ensures guest satisfaction
Requirements and skills
· Work experience as a Pantry Cook, Prep Cook or similar role
· Hands-on experience with professional kitchen equipment
· Adequate understanding of general kitchen operations.
· Understanding of health and safety rules in a kitchen
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
· Team oriented individual
· Availability to work in shifts, weekends and holidays
· A degree from a culinary school is a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $16.00 per hour
