Food Runner
Job Description
Position Summary:
Food Runners are the bridge from the kitchen to the front of house. They are responsible for quickly and accurately delivering orders from the kitchen to the customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist when asked with guest requests and when needed for server needs.

Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.

Clearing any dishes from tables when necessary.

Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g., proper temperature).

Provides an accurate description of dishes delivered.

Communicate with the servers in any manner pertaining to guest requirements.

Communicate food orders to Chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests.

Having knowledge of kitchen flow, communicating when appropriate to the rest of the front of house staff.

All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods.
-
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.

May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Skills / Experience:

Six (6) months previous bar, restaurant, or hotel experience.

Excellent listener and communicator.

Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.

Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs.

Positive Attitude.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.

Must have SNHD Food Handler card up to date.

Must have TAM Card up to date.
