ABOUT SOCORRO COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER:
PMS - Socorro Community Health Center is a PCMH-Patient-Centered Medical Home. The Socorro Community Health Center is staffed by MD/FNPs, a Family Medicine PA-C, and additionally supports a school-based health clinic. Located in Western New Mexico, Socorro is home to the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology a famous and internationally known University. Socorro is 75 miles south of Albuquerque and houses the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, a spot of world renown for bird watching. Hiking, camping, skiing and National Parks close by. POSITION SUMMARY: This is a professional position involving provision of direct patient care. Although most activities are performed independently, clinical oversight is provided by Physicians, Site Medical Director and/or Vice President of Clinical Affairs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have by date of hire and maintain current throughout employment:
- New Mexico Board of Nursing license with certification as a Nurse Practitioner or as a Clinical Nurse Specialist / Family Practice or Certification from the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners.
- New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
- Medicare PIN and UPIN numbers
- Have or be able to obtain BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of hire. If you are assigned to a center with ACLS medications and/or equipment, you must have ACLS certification within 30 days of hire. Certification must meet the requirements listed in the document “BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources” posted on Staurolite. It is your responsibility to keep your certification current at all times.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires successful completion of an initial post-offer of employment:
- According to PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, “Healthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements,” this position must comply with required testing and immunizations. Testing and immunizations including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, will be available at the employee’s PMS health center. Influenza vaccines will be required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
