Compensation
The overall compensation of a Design Consultant is divided into two main categories, Base Compensation and Bonus Compensation.
Base Compensation
- Base compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis for Design Consultants. They are paid the hourly rate of their annual compensation based on a 40-hour workweek.
- Starting regular hourly rate: $24.04
- Equivalent to $50,000 annually based on a 40-hour workweek.
Bonus Compensation
- Each Design Consultant is eligible under specific requirements to earn a potential of up to 2% of additional compensation on their total sales in the form of a bonus.
- Bonus levels range from 0.5% to 2% of sales
- Typical first year: $6-$12k in bonus compensation
- Mid-level experience Design Consultants: $8-$15k in bonus compensation
- Top-level experience Design Consultants: $12-$20k in bonus compensation
* With base & bonus compensation combined, current Design Consultants make anywhere from $50,000 - $100,000

Position Overview
Design Consultants with Adcock Furniture & Design are self-motivated and sales-oriented individuals on our showroom floor. This position works directly with customers to discover furnishings, decor, and accessories aimed at creating beautiful, comfortable, and unique living spaces. The Design Consultant's main role is to present our wide variety of product options, whether it be in-stock or custom special order items, and promote any design service that best meets the customer's needs. Design Consultants are required to manage their customer's orders & expectations which entails gathering the appropriate information to keep the customer updated and handling any necessary order tasks. Finally, Design Consultants are to participate in product and sales process trainings that enhance their overall selling ability and promote success within their role.

Responsibilities
Selling
- Assisting in-store and online retail shoppers by pricing stock and custom products
Product and Sales Training
- Participation in department-wide or individual trainings on vendors, products, sales processes
Managing Customers Orders & Expectations
- Keeping customers updated on order status
- Handle payments
- Scheduling delivery or pickup
- Upholding positive expectations
Design Assistance
- Prospect interior design clients
- Promote our design services
- Occasionally assisting designers with projects
- In-house designers will be available to assist
- On the job training will be provided
