Job Summary:
As a Customer Service Representative (CSR) specializing in personal lines of insurance, you will be the primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance with their personal insurance policies, including home, auto, renters, and other personal insurance products. Your role is to provide exceptional customer service, address inquiries, resolve issues, and support clients in managing their insurance needs. You will collaborate with underwriters, agents, and other team members to ensure accurate policy administration and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Client Interaction:
- Answer incoming calls and emails from clients regarding their personal insurance policies.
- Provide information on coverage, policy changes, billing, and claims processes.
- Assist clients with policy renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Policy Management:
- Process policy applications, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
- Verify and update client information in the system.
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and company policies.
- Issue Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve client issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Liaise with underwriters, claims adjusters, and other departments to address client needs.
- Sales Support:
- Assist agents with quotes and policy comparisons for potential clients.
- Follow up on leads and support the sales process to convert prospects into policyholders.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions.
- Prepare and distribute policy documents, endorsements, and other relevant communications.
- Generate reports on client interactions, policy changes, and other key metrics.
- Client Education:
- Educate clients on their insurance policies and available coverages.
- Provide guidance on risk management and policy optimization.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; some college or insurance-related coursework preferred.
- Experience working in an independent agency preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Proficiency in using insurance software and MS Office applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with team members.
Compensation:
- Salary range of $30,000-$40,000 DOE
