Job Title: NDT Level I Operator
Department: Nondestructive Testing (Quality Assurance)
Reports To: NDT Supervisor for Production/Responsible Level III for Process
Summary:
The certified Level I Operator will process materials and parts in accordance with the applicable method specification for Fluorescent Penetrant and/or X-Ray.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Include the following while performing system capability checks in accordance with SOP or WIS
· Process parts and materials in preparation of applicable NDT methods. This may include pre-cleaning of hardware beforehand.
· The Level I Operator is responsible for ensuring that part count, router, and Operation Sketches are verified to the requirements of Jedco’s Standard Manufacturing Guidelines. In X-Ray, operators shall also be able to understand and follow instructions set forth from specified technique sheets.
· Complete and record data in logs, routers, and all other system evaluation records.
· Level I Operator shall not accept or reject parts.
· Calibrate equipment as necessary with proper instruction.
· Perform preventive maintenance.
· Understands and follows Standard Manufacturing Guidelines
· Performs other tasks assigned as required.
Qualifications:
· Must have excellent communication and organizational skills aligned with essential duties and responsibilities and the ability to follow written instructions precisely.
· Ability to problem solve and critically think through situations, specifications, and process issues to a satisfactory level.
· Must be certified to NAS 410 Level I requirements per Principle.

Education and Experience:
· Must be able to demonstrate fluency in English through reading, writing, and verbal.
· A High School Diploma or equivalent (at minimum) is required.
· 5 years in Quality/Manufacturing is preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer skills is also preferred.
Physical Demands:
· The job requires being able to lift a maximum of 60 lbs. In addition, the operator must pass a Visual Accuity examination (Snellen, Jaeger, and color perception).
