***Interns at all levels must be committed to at least 30 direct patient hours per practicum/internship experience. Applicants that are not able to meey_ this requirement need not apply. This externship is a non-compensated experience geared towards Graduate Internship Credit. Those licensed with a Provisional/Associate license are paid commensurate on experience. ***_
Supervised Intern Responsibilities:
· Provide individual weekly sessions for upcoming interns in the behavioral health field.
· Provide feedback and guidance on counseling techniques, diagnosis, assessments, ethics and application of theories.
· Provide group supervision in a variety of formats, in-person or via online sessions.
· Review progress notes, treatment plans, documentation and monitor ethical compliance for interns.
· Perform assessments, testing, and evaluation of varied types and all ages.
· Coordinate with case managers and psychiatrists.
· Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
· Ensure all services are completed according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care.
· Provide counseling to adults, families, children and couples.
· Supervision standards exceed board requirements for internship as defined by Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists Rules 463.10; 463.11; 681.91; and additional licensure needs as required for licensing.
o Intern is responsible for the academic and licensure requirement is being met to
the standards required by their educational program and or their post graduate
licensing requirement.
Intern Qualification:
· Interns must be enrolled in a Graduate Practicum/Internship course
· Active enrollment in a Masters or Doctorate degree in Behavioral Health, Clinical Psychology, Counseling or closely related field leading to Texas licensure as mental health professional
· Entry level knowledge of diagnostic techniques and a variety of evidence-based treatment, and supervision modalities.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; maintaining a positive work atmosphere is required.
· Demonstrated ability to operate within ethical and professional standards of care.
Shifts Available and Requirement
· Day; Mid, Evening
· M-F; T-S; and/or negotiable
· 8AM to 5PM; and/or negotiable
· Dedicated documentation time
· Evening and or weekend limited shifts are required
