Safety Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring Central Coast Cooling (CCC) establishes and maintains a meaningful and effective employee safety program. This includes developing and implementing policies in alignment with regulatory compliance standards, training and coaching employees and ensuring physical conditions of the worksite is safe.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proven success managing employee safety programs.
- A degree in Occupational Safety & Health preferred with at least 5 years’ experience in the agricultural and/or cooling industry.
- Safety Certifications such as a CSP, ASP, COSS, CHST, etc. document continuing education in the safety, health, and environmental field desired.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal health, safety and environmental regulations including OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, and NFPA standards.
- Knowledgeable regarding various risk reduction principles including safety, health, environment, and loss control; mod lowering strategies and compliance with multiple agency standards.
- An understanding of the requirements of Cal-OSHA , SARA Title III, Food Safety (FDA) and other regulatory plans that apply to our business operations.
- Excellent capabilities with computer programs. Word and Excel are used extensively, as well as PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Must be well organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and adjust tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Willingness to travel to the various Company locations. Travel will vary depending on the time of the year and business needs.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
· Responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of the CCC’s safety program, including creating policies, conducting safety audits, scheduling, and leading monthly and weekly safety meetings.
· Creation of online and in-person safety training, training recommendations, and corrective action plans for employees who need it.
· Maintaining and updating all OSHA regulatory agency compliance and documentation. Ensures the company is following OSHA regulations, including monitoring compliance, and following up to ensure policies, documents, and procedures are up to date.
· Partners with the Human Resources Department to handle Workers' Compensation claims from initial injury reporting to claim resolution. Work closely with HR to ensure employees and management understand the Workers' Compensation process and ensure that claims are reported and processed correctly.
· Maintains and updates company safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
Required.
· Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field and experience.
· Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal health, safety and environmental regulations including OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, and NFPA standards.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
· (5) years of safety experience with experience in Agricultural sector highly desirable, with a working knowledge of OSHA 500, safety/environmental principles, and techniques.
· Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926.
· Capable of identifying known/potential exposures and recommending corrective actions.
· Excellent computer skills expert experience using Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel PowerPoint.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
