SUMMARY:
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Masters prepared, working under the direction of the medical director, responsible for providing intervention and prevention services to our community; consults with various schools, clinic and community health professionals on client issues. Interfaces with various local, state and national governing and professional school-based clinic bodies on community based psychosocial issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct, individual, group and family treatment and prevention/education classroom workshops and mental health issues.
- Provide client case consultation to the school and health clinic professionals
- Assess and evaluate children, adolescent and families to determine diagnosis and provide treatment and/or refer to inpatient, partial hospitalization or outpatient services as deemed appropriate.
- Collaborate and consult with other community mental health professionals relevant to client cases
- Provide counseling and identify resources in collaboration with health team
- Train and supervise student interns in conjunction with agency student intern coordinator(s) and local colleges and universities
- Attend the Illinois Coalition of School-Based Health Center meeting and mental health task force committee meetings
- Attend staff development workshops, seminars and conference provided by the agency, school-based health clinic associations and /or funding agencies
- Participate on the service delivery team with partners and collaborators for the school-based health clinic
- Provide teacher-in-service training on mental health issues as assigned
- Develop relevant youth programming that addresses emotional, social and developmental needs of students
- Provide counseling to pregnant students to identify available options in regards to pregnancy
- Provide evaluation for other Alivio Medical Centerpatients as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and supervises staff listed below, including hiring, training, evaluating and managing performance to meet departmental efficiency and performance measures in keeping with the Union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), Personnel Policies and Procedures and prevailing employment laws as appropriate

WORKING CONDITIONS:
OSHA Category 3 – Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues are not a condition of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Must have a Masters degree in counseling from an accredited college or university.
Licensure:
- Holds a current Illinois license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years post masters and LCPC licensure experience and staff supervision preferred.
- Experience and commitment to working with minority at-risk adolescents.
Special Training:
Demonstrated Competencies:
- Previous experience in the administration and evaluation of IQ, Achievement, Projective and Neuropsychological testing. Must possess and/or be committed to cultural competency in working with minority at-risk populations. Spanish bilingual and bicultural is a plus.
- Must be committed to establishing a sense of community involvement and working with a-risk youth. Must be committed to the continuous improvement of service quality and the agency/health clinic’s missions. Must function effectively within a school and collaborative team setting as well as able to work independently. Must be computer literate.
- Must possess interpersonal skills that excel in cultural sensitivity and respect for differences.
