POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of South Florida College of Nursing is actively recruiting a dynamic and forward-thinking faculty member with doctoral qualifications to serve as the Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director will oversee the administrative and management aspects of the graduate program leading to a DNP degree. The DNP Program Director will dedicate up to 40% of their effort to this role. The Program Director should be well-versed in nurse practitioner and DNP practice, education, accreditation standards, and regulations. This knowledge ensures that the education provided to DNP students is of the highest quality, meeting all accreditation standards and guidelines (including NONPF and CCNE). Additionally, the Program Director should be capable of managing every facet of the program. Teaching responsibilities include doctoral or master's level nursing courses. This pivotal position will work closely with the Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Programs and Concentration Directors to champion the college's deep commitment to academic excellence, interprofessional education, and active learning.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Doctoral degree (e.g., DNP, EdD, PhD) from an accredited institution.
Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program.
Must hold a clear, active, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida by the appointment date or must be a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and be listed on the Florida Department of Health by the appointment date.
Minimum of two years of teaching experience in nursing higher education.
PREFERRED:
DNP Doctoral Degree.
Two (2) years of experience teaching in doctoral nursing re-registered nursing programs.
Administrative/Leadership experience.
Demonstrated track record of scholarship (publications, presentations, other creative works).
Growth mindset with demonstrated professional development goals.
Ability to motivate and support faculty in achieving excellence in teaching roles.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor or higher.
