Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)
Location: Tucson, AZ (In Person)
Pay: $15 - $18 per hour
Position Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Empire Behavioral is a Behavioral Health Residential Facility (group home) located in Tucson AZ that provides housing assistance and behavioral health services to behavioral health patients. The Behavioral Health Technician will be working with our team of medical professionals and service providers to implement treatment plans for members, providing them with the care, support, and supervision they need for success in their recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting daily supportive groups, including AA/NA.
- Responsible for implementing the daily activity and house programming schedules.
- Transport residents to scheduled program activities/events, outings, medical/dental appointments, local agencies associated with their treatment plan, and when applicable unscheduled activities that arise.
- Responsible to participate and provide oversight in activities outside of the home.
- Responsible for the safety of the residents, clinics, and houses.
- Responsible for documenting daily progress notes on all residents assigned.
- Responsible for ensuring the patients follow their individual daily schedule.
- Assisting, teaching, and mentoring residents on how to prepare meals/cook.
- Assisting residents in exercise/wellness activities (i.e. walks in the neighborhood).
- Assisting residents with daily living skills & ADLs, when applicable.
- Assist with additional services as requested.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with, and communicate effectively with medical professionals and providers.
- Basic knowledge of customer relationship management systems (CRM).
- Ability to communicate effectively with substance use disorder patients and their loved ones.
- Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Ability to write reports and understand clinical documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background test
- Must have valid Level 1 fingerprint clearance.
- Must have a recent TB test.
Physical Requirements:
- The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Must be able to walk, bend, stand, climb stairs, speak English, hear, use a telephone, drive an automobile, and operate standard office equipments such as a computer; copier and fax machine. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
