Position Title: Clinical Applications Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Clinical Applications Supervisor (CAS) requires general knowledge of the Centered Spirit Program's policies and procedures. Incumbent is responsible for supervising and directing of the Clinical Application Analyst by providing training, plans, assigns, monitors, and leads the work of others. Also recommends and provides solutions for complex problems; results are evaluated utilizing a project task monitoring system. In addition, responsible for interfaces, awareness of E.H.R processes, creating program goals procuring equipment and software, evaluating, testing and enforcing software security, reviewing documentation and applying project management skills.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff to include, prioritize and assign work, conduct performance evaluations, ensuring staff is trained, ensure employee follow policies and procedures, maintain a healthy and safe work environment, make hiring, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Design, develop, and implement processes and procedures for information systems, department programs, and monitors compliance.
- Provide administrative support such as maintaining and updating department records, prepare reports, coordinate schedules for projects, and prepare basic business correspondence.
- Maintain and implement various databases, custom applications, interface applications and web based applications, which include managing customization of the site parameters, assist with the development of templates/forms, and addressing integration issues within software packages used by the Health Division.
- Assist management with developing user education materials and may be requested to conduct trainings for new applications and HIPAA.
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and clinical areas for the Health Division and supports change within the Health System Network.
- Work closely with the Health Department's Health Information Management (HIM), PYT IT staff, outside software vendors, and AHCCCS personnel when researching available industry software products; testing applications and reports; communicating any issues to venders using standardized industry jargon, terms, and specifications; relaying product enhancement request from unit users to vendors.
- Work closely with the PYT, I.H.S, and State Government Information Technology staff and management to obtaining required permissions form management to implement new application components and review software downloads and patches.
- Serve as a liaison to E.H.R hosting provider, health clinics, Centered Spirit (Behavioral Health), Sewa Uusim, pharmacies, and labs.
- Create reports for tracking access to data and security testing procedures for the Electronic Health record applications.
- Prepare documentation to record maintenance and upgrades; report on department activities as needed.
- May participate, as assigned by the department director, on various clinical Health Division unit and vender user committees.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning for themselves and staff by keeping abreast of advancement in E. H. R, Health Information Exchange (HIE), and Clinical software and technologies.

Education, Certifications and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) and or equivalent experience three (3) years of information technology administration or HIM experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Special Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License;
- Must have a current Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card or be able to obtain the Level 1 Arizona Clearance Card within ninety (90) days of hire. Failure to maintain a current Level 1 Clearance Card will result in termination.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Positions in this class typically require: finger dexterity, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Incumbent may be subjected to stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, and workspace restrictions.
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift; carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Tribal Vehicle Use Policy Notice:
This position may require the use of personal, GSA or Tribal vehicle for Tribal business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for Tribal business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a Tribal vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Failure to maintain a driving record that would allow you to drive Tribal or GSA vehicles may result in removal from this position.
