Warehouse Operations Excellence (OPEX) Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
- The Warehouse OPEX Manager is responsible for efficiently and effectively leading and implementing warehouse process improvement initiatives across the PrimeSource distribution network. This role shall work collaboratively across distribution and supply chain operations to implement rapid change; be a hands-on team builder and lead teams through improvement processes.
- The role shall be responsible to define & lead initiatives to reduce process waste, deploy business tools and standards, and ensure all internal & external operational requirements are being met.
- In addition, this role shall be integral in the development, deployment and validation of the PrimeSource Operating System focused on providing stable and standardized operations.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Drive collaboration and function as “agent of change” across distribution operations with focus on delivering continuous operational improvement, cost reduction and standardize best practices across network. Focus on safety, efficiency, and service to our customers at lowest possible cost.
- Identify and propose enhancements and modifications to processes, procedures, and metrics to eliminate waste and drive operational efficiency and productivity.
- Driver of Lean leadership and performance management as a strong discipline to ensure that the OpEx culture is well respected and sustained; provide coaching/guidance in Lean.
- Lead facilitation and execute Focused Improvement events through all stages (A3 charter ideation / creation, pre-work identification and completion, delivery of results, regular follow up and follow through on sustainment). Independently identifies process gaps, recommends, and implements process improvement.
- Assist in development, along with deployment and maintenance of a PrimeSource Operating System (foundational standards) to ensure all distribution sites perform according to defined guidelines and policies.
- Identify and assess current and future warehouse technologies and material handling automation, including warehouse management system functionality & modules. Leader for implementations.
- Work across supply chain organization to problem solve and ensure robust solutions are identified.
- DC readiness: Set up and prepare new DC locations that will be moving to the WM program. Conduct assessments of warehouse operations to identify gaps and execute plans to eliminate all gaps.
- SAP WM configuration: Assist in configuration and customizing the SAP WM module to align with operational requirements and all optimized warehouse processes.
- Testing and validation: Support the testing and validation of SAP WM configurations, ensuring accurate and efficient warehouse management.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Subjects: Supply Chain, Logistics, Business
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years' experience in warehouse operations leadership role
- 5+ years’ of progressively more responsible distribution operations experience to ensure in-depth knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Prior experience / training with Lean concepts and tools (eg. A3, 5S, Visual Mgmt, etc.)
- Understanding od SAP WM module functionalities and configurations.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills needed for various audiences from senior leadership to front line team members.
- Strong project management skills, including ability to effectively plan, and set and manage multiple priorities to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Demonstrated change management capabilities, including experience in development of standard work, procedures, training materials, etc., along with experience leading training function.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skill set.
- Travel: 80%, could fluctuate based on assignment
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Proficient using Microsoft Suite.
- SAP experience preferred.
- SAP WM experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
