We are currently seeking a passionate General Manager to join our established restaurant brand, and lead all aspects of our day to day operations. This opportunity is located at the historic Union Station in Washington, D.C. The GM will be responsible for providing high-quality food and beverage while motivating our staff to provide memorable experiences for our guests. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be comfortable managing both FOH and BOH. Ultimately, the GM will oversee other managers/supervisors while ensuring our restaurant runs smoothly, and customers have pleasant dining experiences while being present during every shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations daily
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
- Organize and supervise shifts
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
- Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Control operational costs and identify measures maximize profits, maintain revenue and quality
- Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
- Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
- Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
- Ensure efficient restaurant operations on a daily/shiftily basis
- Maintain high quality, productivity, and exceptional customer service standards

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Proven work experience as a Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role
- Proven customer service experience as a manager
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
- Familiarity with restaurant management software
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills; experience with training and people development
- Acute financial management skills
- Knowledgeable and comfortable with P&L's, forecasting, and budgeting
- Must have a hands on approach and be able to lead by example
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling (Preferred)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Full Service restaurant management role
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the restaurant
- Must be able to withstand high temperatures in the kitchen
